Car sharing operator Avant Car opts for Invers technology

Avant Car, Slovenia’s largest provider of electric car sharing, has chosen CloudBoxx from Invers for its Avant2Go service to integrate the fleet’s e-cars into the backend and the user app. The decisive factor for selecting Invers’ technology include its ability to enable flexible fleet expansion, integrate OEM telematics, offer additional car-sharing functionalities and provide reliable support. Avant Car currently operates a fleet of around 3,500 vehicles across Slovenia, Croatia, North Macedonia and Austria, serving various business models such as car sharing, rental, fleet management and subscription services. The company employs 150 people.

Siegen/Ljubljana, January 14th, 2025 – Convenient, sustainable mobility: Avant2Go, the Slovenian mobility service provider, offers station-based car sharing with electric cars in Ljubljana, Maribor, Kranj, Novo mesto, Murska Sobota and Ljubljana Airport. Avant Car also operates stations in Croatia (Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Zagreb Airport), Austria (Klagenfurt and Klagenfurt Airport), and soon in Skopje, North Macedonia. The company uses CloudBoxx from Invers to connect the current 550 e-vehicles to their IT backend and their in-house developed customer app.

An excellent user experience is important to Avant Car’s management, says Matej Čer, co-founder of the company, both for its own customers and from their technology provider: “We want to ensure that our customers can access sustainable mobility services quickly and easily, reaching their destination comfortably 24/7. To achieve this, our technology must work flawlessly. With Invers, we have a trusted partner that supports our long-term growth ambitions with an innovative service, convenient up-to-date functionalities and reliable support.”

Founded in 2003, Avant Car began as a car rental company, soon added a unique fleet management service, established its own R&D department, embraced electric mobility in 2012, and launched its first fully electric car sharing service in Ljubljana in 2016. In recent years, Avant Car has become one of the fastest growing mobility services providers in the region. The company aims to expand by adding up to 20 new cities in the next five years. Car sharing remains a key focus, with Avant Car offering a diverse range of vehicles to meet various needs, from mini to compact and luxury cars to delivery vans.

Mobility experts believe that, above all, mobility technology needs to be future-proof, like that from Invers. For automating rentals, this means also allowing the integration of OEM telematics units. These solutions, pre-installed in cars at the manufacturing factory, can quickly and easily connect to the Invers API. “For operators like Avant Car, who want to replace private cars with car sharing at scale, a reliable, scalable and future-proof tech stack is the backbone of the business”, says Bharath Devanathan, CBO of Invers. “Only if car sharing services are convenient and reliable, can customers do without their own car. In addition, Avant Car needs full flexibility when it comes to makes and models within the fleet. Together with Avant Car, we want to make this car sharing business work.”

A special feature of the Avant2Go car sharing service is the one-way journey, where customers can only use the vehicle for one way and return it to a different station. This offers more flexibility and additional comfort and possibilities to the user. A classic user scenario is the trip to the airport: customers start at a car sharing station in the city, drive to the airport, and conveniently park and return the vehicle at the station there.
