Invers launches a new Driving Score feature for its Driving Analysis solution, providing car sharing operators with actionable intelligence to incentivize good driving behavior and reduce unwanted driving behavior to manage risk, reduce operational costs, and protect their fleets.

Siegen, September 9th, 2025 – Car sharing faces unique challenges: multiple customers use high-value vehicles without operators checking them between rentals, costly repairs from accidents, and the risk of brand damage due to reckless driving. Operators traditionally have little visibility into customer behavior during rentals, leaving them exposed to avoidable risks and operational headaches.

With the new Driving Score feature, Invers evolves its Driving Analysis solution from detailed event reporting into a tool for scalable fleet protection. Driving Analysis, introduced in 2021, provides operators with detailed insights into driving behavior during rentals, so that operators can understand how their vehicles are being used by customers. It reports events through FleetControl, Invers’ fleet data management software that receives data directly from CloudBoxx, after analysis and once customizable thresholds are reached.

Driving Score builds on the existing Driving Analysis product by easy plug and play instantly. It builds on the existing Driving Analysis data and uses additional information to automatically synthesize those real-time events into a detailed score. To calculate the score, it not only adds up the events, but it takes several factors into account to create a weighted assessment. For example, going 30km/h over the speed limit in a 50 zone generates more negative points than going 30km/h over on a highway with a speed limit of 120. This additional analysis lets Driving Score deliver an accurate evaluation as soon as a rental ends, enabling operations teams to act immediately, especially after problematic trips.

Trip Rating provides a quick overview

In addition, this update also introduces a clear 5-category system that all trips are sorted into. This It allows teams to instantly know which set of trips they should take a closer look at. Operators can use these insights to reward good driving behavior with a bonus, for example for defensive driving, gradual acceleration or braking adapted to the situation, ultimately resulting in increased traffic safety. At the same time, they can send warnings, restrict access, or suspend accounts for bad driving. This new feature lets operators base their actions on objective, data-based triggers, leading to fewer incidents, lower repair and insurance costs, and a stronger brand reputation.

Supporting operations teams with automated workflows

Automation and integration are at the core: The score and rating can become direct triggers for workflow automation, reducing manual effort and ensuring efficient and steady improvement of driving behavior with targeted measures. Whether flagging trips likely to generate claims, reviewing high-risk accounts, or incentivizing safe driving with gamification and rewards, Driving Score brings operational efficiency to new heights. “Comprehensive tests with operators piloting the system have clearly shown that most of the damage in car sharing is caused by a small percentage of customers that drive aggressively, speed, and go for joyrides in their vehicles”, says Alexander Kirn, CEO of Invers. “Our new Driving Score allows operators to confidently and efficiently intervene on truly risky behavior, ensuring undamaged vehicles, premium customer experiences and enhanced traffic safety.” Invers Driving Score now offers the most reliable, scalable solution on the market to protect assets, reduce costs, and enable data-driven fleet management, freeing teams to focus on growth and innovation.
