INVERS presents CloudBoxx Mini

IoT for Micromobility – Small, light and efficient: with CloudBoxx Mini, INVERS has optimised its proven telematics solution for mopeds, kick scooters and e-bikes. Operators of shared mobility services, in particular those with two and three-wheeler fleets, can now benefit from a compact solution using the modular, open and easy-to-integrate CloudBoxx technology.

Siegen, Germany, 09.09.2020 – The market for shared micromobility continues to grow, while some 23.9 million shared mobility mopeds, scooters and e-bikes were available worldwide at the end of 2019, by 2024 this figure will be over 40 million, according to forecasts by market analysts at Berg Insight. INVERS’s lightest and smallest telematics solution to date, CloudBoxx Mini, is designed specifically for lightweight micromobility vehicles, to make any moped, kick scooter or e-bike, smart and sharing-ready, in a matter of minutes.

INVERS, the inventor of automated vehicle sharing, has adapted its established CloudBoxx telematics solution, to work for two to three-wheelers: “The new CloudBoxx Mini offers the same central functions as the CloudBoxx, but it is optimised in size and design for use in mopeds, kick scooters and e-bikes. It provides the relevant interfaces for these vehicles to enable seamless integration into mobility services,” says Alexander Kirn, CEO of INVERS. “So now we can offer operators of shared micromobility services the same reliable solution that we are known for among vehicle sharing operators.”

Three features in particular distinguish CloudBoxx Mini as a shared micromobility solution. The first is the backup battery: many shared micromobility operators face a challenge in finding and retrieving their fleet if the vehicles’ battery is dead or stolen. CloudBoxx Mini has an integrated backup battery that will send out signals from the vehicle for up to 40 hours, making the vehicle easily detectable.

Secondly, CloudBoxx Mini has advanced motion detection: acceleration sensors report when a vehicle has fallen over or been moved away without authorisation, for example, enabling operators to react in the event of vandalism or theft. Individual functions can be set up, such as triggering an alarm if a parked vehicle is knocked over.

The third feature is its easy installation and integration. In addition to its size and design, the reliability and service life of the telematics unit is important. CloudBoxx Mini offers a waterproof, robust housing that already comes with built-in antennas. Operators can therefore flexibly attach the solution anywhere on their vehicle. Additionally, the clearly documented programming interface enables operators to quickly and easily integrate CloudBoxx Mini into all relevant software processes, such as booking application, fleet operation software, and maintenance workflows. Being a vehicle and software agnostic solution, CloudBoxx Mini offers micromobility sharing providers high flexibility in fleet management and enables them to provide multi-model services as they scale. But that’s not all, they can even access all available vehicle data over-the-air, and customize services by adding new features at any point in time.
